I came to naturopathy the way most of my clients find me — through years of closed doors and unanswered questions.
Growing up with complex, multi-system health issues — each stage of life bringing a new basket of symptoms. Told I was young. Told I was fine. Sent for investigations that never went anywhere, results that came back "normal", waved out the door again and again. I learned to live with things no one should have to live with. I was not well. I was not functional. I just didn't know any different.
The turning point came in my twenties, when a wellness chiropractor did something no one had done before — she looked. She investigated, acknowledged what was happening, and explained it to me in a way that actually made sense for the first time. The answers were there all along, I just hadn't experienced someone who could see them.
That experience changed everything. It opened a door I didn't know existed. For the first time I understood that health isn't simply a matter of disease or no disease — it's a spectrum of function. You can have results that clear the clinical threshold for disease and still be nowhere near your functional best. The absence of illness is not the presence of health. That distinction changed the way I understood my own body — and everything that came after.
Psychology was the path I was on — naturally drawn to helping others make sense of what they were carrying. But naturopathy offered what I hadn't known I was looking for — a framework for treating the whole person. Not just their parts.
That choice shapes everything about the way I practice — thorough, methodical, and built around making sure you leave every appointment understanding your own case more deeply than when you arrived. Not dependent on me. Informed.
I'm now in my 40s and still actively managing my health journey. Because complex, multi-system health issues are just that — a journey. And now I have the knowledge, the tools, and the understanding to know what's actually happening and why. My understanding of the complexities of the human body comes from lived experience as much as clinical training, and I LOVE sharing it with others.
I completed my Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) in 2017 and i'm a registed member of ATMS. I've worked across clinical practice, health retail, and practitioner education — and I bring all of it to every case I work with.
